Management of the Epic Games Store digital store special material summarized the results of the year 2022 for the service and its users and also spoke about the innovations planned for 2023.

As it became known, the audience of the Epic Games Store exceeded 230 million people (194 million in 2021). The online daily peak was 34.3m (31.1m) and the monthly 68m (62m).
In 2022, 626 new games and apps were released on the Epic Games Store for a total of 1,548 (917). Users spent $820 million ($840 million) on Epic games and $355 million ($300 million) on third-party games.
Epic Games Store partners gave away 99 games in 2022 (70 of which broke their online top record) with a total value of $2240 and an average rating of 75%. In total, players received more than 700 million free copies.

The most popular games on the Epic Games Store in 2022 by spend and audience participation were Genshin Impact, Rocket League, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, Grand Theft Auto V and Fortnite. They were classified as “mythical”.
For 2023, the Epic Games Store plans to improve launcher performance, introduce support for third-party subscription services, create content centers in addition to product pages, and continue weekly giveaways.
Additionally, starting today, March 9th, the Epic Games Store has introduced tools (previously in closed beta testing) for self-publishing games. Since its inception, the service has been subject to manual content moderation.
