Lihun noted that Nio’s mobile app has 600,000 daily active users, which is about 1.5 times the number of users of the company’s electric vehicles. So Nio already has a certain number of potential smartphone buyers, and their number will only grow in the future.

Of course, the new product offers additional functions for owners of Nio electric vehicles. Although the Nio Phone resembles a typical smartphone, it has a special button that allows it to be used as a car key. The new product can also easily connect to the car, for example, so that the user can, for example, transfer a video conference from a mobile device to the car’s systems, Lihun added.
