2018 God of War Adventure Action Lead Cory Barlog in an interview with a German portal game star explains how bad PC versions of good games are made.
According to Barlog, when developers are criticized for a bad port, the team often had too few hands and time. And the publishers are often to blame.
“Sometimes the publisher says, ‘That’s as much money as we can give. And that’s the maximum time you get. And here’s the platform we want to see the game on.” In reality, that’s probably not enough.”said Barlog.
Barlog added that “any game” can be successfully ported to a new platform for it if there are interested parties “the right expectations, the right plan and the right experience”.
The PC version of God of War debuted on January 14th on Steam and the Epic Games Store. Earlier it was reported that the game was transferred to the PC for at least two years – the work of the developers met and exceeded the expectations of journalists.
