The author will be leaving the studio next month where she has been working since February 2021. Anna Megill was originally listed at Playground Games as the lead writer for Fable, but was promoted to Narrative Director in mid-2022.

The departure of Anna Megill need not be indicative of creative differences within the development team. Most likely, the screenwriter just finished working on the game’s plot and decided to do something else.

Over the course of her career, the author has managed to contribute to Dishonored: Death of the Outsider, Control, and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. Playground Games’ storytelling department, which she is leaving, includes a number of veterans from Rockstar, Rocksteady, BioWare and Ubisoft.

The next Fable has been in development for PC, Xbox Series X and S for over five years. The first full trailer for the game was unveiled at the Xbox Games Showcase in June, but no release date has been set yet.
