“Technically, Silent Hill 2 is done. It doesn’t mean it’s game over, but we’re close.” – such words of Babeno from the interview were quoted by the media. Many users decided that the wait was not long, but everything turned out to be a little more complicated.

“We do not normally comment on rumours, but this time we feel compelled to speak up as some of our recent statements have been taken out of context due to inaccuracies in translation.” – reads the developer’s message Twitter.

In an interview, Babeno noted that according to market research, Bloober Team games have a sales cap of 2 million copies, but in the survival horror genre more can be achieved – say 10 million units. In the letter, the creators emphasized that they did not disclose planned sales of certain games, including the Silent Hill 2 remake, but only shared their expectations for future projects.

“It’s also not true that we announced that the remake of Silent Hill 2 is ready for release, the authors continued. — Whatever stage of production it is in, all our efforts are focused on achieving the highest quality of the final product – the quality that fans deserve. We know users want to know more. We’re confident that Konami, who is responsible for the game’s release, will share new information as it becomes available.”

The Bloober team thanked users for their support and promised “Keep striving to create quality games that offer the best experience.”

The Silent Hill 2 remake was announced in October 2022. At the same time, surprisingly high system requirements were revealed. Shortly after, at the GPW Innovation Day, Babeno said the development had been going on for about three years and had already entered one of the final phases where the makers are honing the elements.

The new version will feature Unreal Engine 5 graphics, an over-the-shoulder camera, a redesigned combat system and splash screens, and will also lose loading screens. Veterans of the series are involved in the work – artist Masahiro Ito (Masahiro Ito) and composer Akira Yamaoka (Akira Yamaoka).

The game will be released for the PCsteam) and PlayStation 5. Release dates are yet to be determined.

In parallel, the Bloober team is working on a new Layers of Fear. An expanded remake of both titles and the Inheritance DLC for the original game will be released in June. The studio recently unveiled 11 minutes of horror gameplay.
