Over the past 16 years since its release, the first Witcher has earned a cult following, but in 2024 it’s difficult to recommend the game to a modern gamer: the graphics and gameplay are dated and the pacing and tone of the narrative are outdated Some places leave a lot to be desired.

“First of all, we need an honest, practical analysis of which elements are frankly bad or have deteriorated over time and need to be recycled.”said Rokosh about the unfortunate and dated aspects of The Witcher.

Rokosh called it an equally important task for the developers of the remake to highlight the most successful and even important parts of the original The Witcher that should be preserved. Judging by the wording, Fool’s Theory hasn’t done this yet.

Speaking to Edge, Rokosz expressed his disappointment at missing the chance to work on the first part of the trilogy: “It always annoyed me that I missed the first game. I wanted the opportunity to pay tribute to her..

The Witcher remake is built on Unreal Engine 5 and is positioned as a story-driven, open-world, single-player RPG that features: “A modern reinterpretation” games. The release is expected after the next installment in the series – Polaris.
