“Last Friday morning, our server fell victim to a cryptographic ransomware attack that systematically encrypted all data on the system/local backup drive and left a ransom note in Bitcoin to pay for the file decryption.” – Said Gellyberry Studios on its Discord server.

To remedy the situation, the company has developed a plan that includes server restoration and new databases for characters and accounts. It also promised to manually restore player accounts, including “every item, every level, every title, every pet, etc.” Additionally, players will receive a pet as a thank you for their support.

As stated in the resource hothardware.comGellyberry Studios is a small company and manual data recovery will waste a lot of resources, which will negatively affect the progress of game development.

It should also be noted that Ethyrial: Echoes of Yore is in Steam Early Access and at this point it is free.
