Remember that since Battlefield V (2018) Battlefield hasn’t had a single player mode. Last year’s Battlefield 2042 went without a campaign as the developers decided to tell the story in multiplayer.

According to a position advertised back in February (which has only just come to light), the design director has to design a single “New Battlefield Campaign”. Experience in management positions is required (at least 10 years).

“Your task will be to organize mission design, storytelling, gameplay mechanics and systems to create the best possible experience.”it says in the job description.

Considering that Electronic Arts is still looking for someone to design the single player campaign, it can be assumed that the next Battlefield is still relatively far from release.

Recall that the Seattle studio EA, where the design director will work, is headed by one of the creators of Halo, Marcus Leto (Marcus Lehto). The unit was formed in 2021 to bring a storyline to the Battlefield franchise.

Rumor has it that most of the Battlefield 2042 developers are already busy pre-production on the next Battlefield, and the rest of the team is said to be keen to get all the promised content for the game ready quickly and cheaply.
