The Crucial T700 SSD with PCIe 5.0 interface is being prepared for release and will be able to demonstrate the new features of the standard – the read speed has reached 12.4 GB / s.

PCIe 5.0 technology is spreading much more slowly than expected. Drive manufacturers claim that next-gen NVMe SSDs will perform twice as fast as their PCIe 4.0-based predecessors, but that could take months or even years. The first desktop platform with PCIe 5.0 support debuted almost a year and a half ago, but it’s still difficult to find a drive that can live up to its potential.
In the absence of graphics cards with PCIe 5.0 support, with the exception of Chinese MTTs, fans of advanced solutions will have to rely only on SSDs for the time being. One of them promises to be the Crucial T700 model in the foreseeable future, equipped with a Phison E26 controller and a radiator – fortunately the manufacturer has not used active cooling.
Linus Tech Tips YouTube Channel Creator Linus Gabriel Sebastian reportedthat he was able to test the Crucial T700 and the drive showed a decent result in the CrystalDiskMark program: sequential read speed was 12,422 MB / s, and write speed – 11,858 MB / s. Unfortunately, he did not specify which platform was used in the test, but it could be Intel 600, 700 or AMD 600 series boards.
