As a reminder, Spacer’s Choice Edition is an enhanced version of the satirical role-playing game The Outer Worlds for current generation consoles. Unlike many similar remasters, the new edition of The Outer Worlds has to pay.

According to Schofield, the Spacer’s Choice Edition isn’t just a visual upgrade. In addition to graphics and performance improvements, the remastered edition includes smarter companions, a level cap increase to 99, and both story additions.

“We wanted to… keep this rewarding roleplaying game from becoming too old with new games, while still providing a fresh and up-to-date experience for all newcomers to Alcyone. It’s not just about how the game looks, it’s about how it feels.”says Schofield.

Owners of The Outer Worlds with two add-ons can get a remaster for $10, everyone else gets full price.

To that end, Obsidian has made the open world richer, redesigned in-game landscapes, updated weather options, improved models and animations, added support for haptic feedback and adaptive DualSense triggers.

Graphic innovations are also enough: 4K and 60 fps, volumetric lighting, improved special effects and particle physics, increased density of vegetation and objects on the ground. On a PC, all these “bells and whistles” mean higher system requirements.

The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition will be available on March 7th this year for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X and S. The Outer Worlds base audience has now surpassed 5 million players (at least 4 million of whom are buyers). .
