Released in 2022, God of War Ragnarok marked the end of the Spartan Kratos’ Scandinavian saga. However, the sequel to the cult slasher series seems to be in the works within the walls of Santa Monica Studios.

As noted by the portal wccftechSanta Monica Studio is currently looking for several fight designers (Private And Seniorincluding for companions) for his unannounced project.
The connection with the famous franchise can be traced in the job description: applicants for the mentioned positions need knowledge of God of War (2018) and God of War Ragnarok as well “the ability to discuss in detail their combat systems, mechanics, and enemies”.
Since the studio is only looking for designers for the combat system, don’t expect an early announcement: the production of large PlayStation exclusives (The Last of Us Part II, Horizon Forbidden West) takes five to six years.

The pantheon whose gods Kratos will exterminate after God of War, Ragnarok is in no hurry to unveil at the Santa Monica Studio. As an entourage for the 2018 reboot, the developers considered ancient Egypt.
Santa Monica is said to be busy with multiple games, not just a potential new God of War. According to studio creative director Cory Barlog, his current project is already in development “many years”.
God of War Ragnarok debuted on November 9th, 2022 on PS4 and PS5. The game received high ratings (94% on Metacritic) and was sold worldwide on February 1st, 2023 11 million copies.
