The Chinese companymachenike has become the first manufacturer to officially announce a gaming laptop with the upcoming Intel Arc A730 discrete graphics accelerator. The Discovery Edition 2022 portable gaming system will be based on Intel Alder Lake processors.
The manufacturer claims for the novelty a 16-inch screen with a resolution of 2.5K, a refresh rate of 165 Hz and 100 percent coverage of the sRGB color space. The laptop is equipped with a 14-core Intel Core i7-12700H processor. It is accompanied by an Intel Arc A730M graphics card with 12GB of GDDR6 memory running at 14Gbps, connected via a 192-bit bus that offers a throughput of 336GB/s. The accelerator is based on the ACM-G10 graphics processor with 24 Xe cores containing a total of 3072 FP32 operation units.
It also claims to use 16GB of DDR5-4800 RAM and a PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD. The manufacturer does not specify the volume for the latter. There are multiple USB Type-C ports with a fast battery charging feature.
The device has already been listed on the online marketplace JD.com at a price of 8599 yuan (about 1274 US dollars). Pre-orders for this will be accepted starting June 6th. At launch, the novelty will be offered at a discount of 7499 yuan (about 1112 US dollars). The company does not specify when the actual deliveries of the laptop will begin.
