Last week, the Chinese authorities announced that they wanted to test American Micron Technology’s products for information security in order to ensure their suitability for further use in national infrastructure facilities. According to representatives of the American manufacturer, the investigation had no impact on its ongoing activities.

“Delivery of products Micron, its development and production, sales and other functions will be conducted as usual,” — assured company representative. Accordingly, Micron insists on the safety of its products and demonstrates an absolute commitment to the interests of its customers. Recall that the news about the start of an investigation by the Chinese authorities into the safety of Micron products last week caused the company’s share price to fall by 4.4%. They fell another 1.2% last Monday.
The company gets about 11% of its sales in mainland China, so a potential ban on sales of this brand of memory in China could erode the American manufacturer’s revenue. At the same time, for the Chinese side, such a ban would not be a serious blow to infrastructure, since Micron products can be replaced with both South Korean and Chinese products. Local manufacturers have made good progress in the production of chips, both RAM and solid state.
