Earlier this week, Open AI officially unveiled GPT-4, a new version of its large language AI model showing “Human Level Performance” in many professional tasks. Following that, Microsoft confirmedthat GPT-4 has already been used in the preview of the new search engine Bing in recent weeks.
“We are pleased to confirm that the new Bing that we have customized for search runs on GPT-4. If you’ve used the new Bing preview within the last five weeks, you’ve already experienced an early version of this powerful model. As Open AI makes changes to GPT-4 in the future, Bing will continue to benefit from these improvements.”Yusuf Mehdi, vice president of consumer marketing at Microsoft, wrote on the developer blog. The message also states that those who want to try the new GPT-4 engine should sign up to test the new Bing preview.
Note that the GPT-4 AI model is significantly larger than previous versions and used more data during training. GPT-4 can work not only with text, but also with images. This means that the algorithm can recognize what is shown in a photo, diagram or drawing and also use this information to solve a problem. According to the developers, the new model will actually give less wrong answers.
