The free-to-play team shooter Counter-Strike 2, which debuted last fall, was released without many of the modes beloved by CS:GO players. Valve returned one of them to the game with fresh update.
We are talking about the “Arms Race” mode – in it, new weapons are given to players for completed kills, and the round ends as soon as a member of one of the teams acquires a golden knife and kills one of the opponents with it.
“Arms Race” in Counter-Strike 2 works according to the same rules as in the days of CS:GO, but at the time of its addition to the game it includes only two of the seven original maps – Baggage and Shoots.
In addition, a slightly redesigned Zeus x27 stun gun is now available as standard equipment for Arms Race – the energy supply is now endless and recharges after 30 seconds.
In addition, the patch brought two new backgrounds for the main menu (airport, warehouse), a Kilowatt case with 17 skins, an Ambush Sticke Capsule and the ability to place up to five stickers anywhere on the weapon.
The developers also added a shadow from smoke grenades, a “Return All” button to the purchase menu, made changes to the subtick structure, and much more. The patch size is 8.5 GB – this is the largest update in the history of CS 2.
Counter-Strike 2 is a free upgrade of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive to the version on the Source 2 engine. The game was released on the night of September 28, 2023 and completely replaced CS:GO.
