Owners of a Google Pixel Watch have reported an unusual problem on the Internet: after only a few months of use, the back of the device suddenly detaches due to weak adhesive.
For most users, like writes Android Police, Google replaced a defective device with a new one under warranty, although in some cases the company charged $300 for repairs.
Posts have been published about it appear on the Reddit platform for the past few months. Since there are not many of them, it cannot be said that the problem is widespread. In most cases, the back of a Pixel Watch has come loose when removing the wearable from the charging case, indicating a problem with the adhesive securing the panel to the case.
The experts at iFixit will help you disassemble a Pixel Watch written downthat the adhesive is a “liquid seal”. In the iFixit report reported: “The rear glass appears to be held in place by some sort of liquid gasket that seals tight <…> It can also be removed from the glass with little or no residue.”.
Apparently Google’s new adhesive peels off too easily. Poorly bonded backs have reportedly recently become an issue with Fossil smartwatches as well. The manufacturer has recognized the problem and reported that it has been fixed.
A Google spokesman told Ars Technica: a comment: “We are aware that a very small number of Google Pixel Watch users have had an issue with the glass on the back of their watch. We are working to determine the cause and resolve the situation as soon as possible..
