Telegram now allows you to send USDT to other users

Telegram messenger users can now transfer tether (USDT) to each other – this is the largest stablecoin, i.e. a cryptocurrency linked to the dollar. After registering in the wallet bot, transfers are instantaneous.

Support for the stablecoin Tether appeared in the @Wallet bot, which allows you to make transfers in bitcoins and TON cryptocurrency since April last year. In order to work with the feature, you must first register in the wallet bot and add it to the attachments menu. After that, if you click the button with the paperclip icon in a chat with another user, the electronic wallet will appear as one of the options for sending files. Next, you need to choose a cryptocurrency and specify the amount that does not exceed the amount of the balance. The money will be transferred immediately.

In 2018, Telegram developers launched the TON blockchain, but in 2020, the platform administration was forced to abandon it due to demands from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The project became an independent entity, which the developers of the TON Foundation Community continued to work on. At the end of last year, the Fragment platform was launched on the basis of TON, on which auctions of collectible nicknames and virtual phone numbers work.
