Tecno introduced the 5G smartphones Camon 20, Camon 20 Pro and Camon 20 Pro – the older received a new-old Dimensity 8050 chip

Tecno has presented four smartphones of the new Camon 20 series. In this article we will talk about three cheaper models: Camon 20, Camon 20 Pro and Camon 20 Pro 5G. All three share a very similar design and feature 6.67-inch AMOLED displays with support for a 120Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 2400×1080 pixels.

The Camon 20 Pro 5G model is one of the first devices based on the new 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 8050 processor, which in turn is a Dimensity 1300 rebranded last year. The chip has a Cortex-A78 core with a frequency of 3 GHz, three Cortex-A78 cores with a frequency of 2.6 GHz and four Cortex-A55 cores with a frequency of 2 GHz. The processor is also equipped with integrated Mali-G77 graphics and a 5G modem.

The Camon 20 Pro model received a 6nm MediaTek Helio G99 processor. It has two Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.2 GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2 GHz. A Mali-G57 MC2 GPU is available for graphics processing. The Camon 20 base model received a 12nm MediaTek Helio G85. It features two Cortex-A75 cores clocked up to 2.0GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores clocked up to 1.8GHz. The MP2 accelerator Mali-G52 is responsible for graphics processing. All three smartphones received 8 GB of RAM and offer 256 GB of storage.

The main sensor of the main camera unit of all three smartphones has a resolution of 64 megapixels. For support, choose a 2-megapixel sensor for macro photography. The camera of the Camon 20 Pro 5G model received optical stabilization, as well as an additional 2-megapixel sensor for calculating the depth of the scene. Two other models received QVGA modules as the third sensor of the main camera.

Also, all three described models of the Camon 20 series received 32-megapixel front selfie cameras. The Camon 20 Pro and Pro 5G models have under-display optical fingerprint readers. The base model Camon 20 received a side touch button to unlock the device.

All three new items run Android 13 operating system with a proprietary Tecno HIOS 13 shell and are also IP53 certified with limited protection against water and dust. New items are powered by 5000mAh rechargeable batteries with support for 33W charging.

The standard Camon 20 model is available in Predawn Black (Black), Serenity Blue (Blue) and Glacier Glow (Gradient), while the 20 Pro and 20 Pro 5G models offer Serenity Blue and Dark Welkin (Black). The manufacturer did not provide any information about the costs of the devices.
