According to Knapik, RT: Overdrive is so transformative in Cyberpunk 2077 that even those who have already completed the game on maximum graphics settings would make sense to do it again, but with new features. However, beauty has its price – not every PC owner can enjoy the revolutionary technology.

“It should be noted that this is the technology of the future. If you have an extremely powerful PC, you can play. The brand is unimportant in this case, only the performance “– said Knapik at the end of his conversation with a PCWorld journalist, emphasizing that RT: Overdrive is needed “very high quality hardware”.

Kozlovsky clarified that for good performance with RT: Overdrive in Cyberpunk 2077, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40-series graphics card is required – because it “strongest”support DLSS 3 with frame generation and Shader Execution Reordering technology with efficient thread reordering.

Recall, RT: It’s called overdrive “Significantly improve the game’s already incredible graphics” and includes support for path tracing, more accurate RT lighting and shadows thanks to RTX Direct Illumination technology, better indirect lighting, and full-resolution ray-traced reflections.

RT: Overdrive will be released for the PC version of Cyberpunk 2077 on April 11th with patch 1.62, but only as part of the technology preview. Kozlovsky and Knapik emphasize that the technology is still developing, but already “so cool”that you can already make it available to the public.

Cyberpunk 2077 was released on PC (Steam, GOG, EGS), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S. In January, the game received support for NVIDIA Reflex and updated DLSS 3 (PC), and by the end of this year there will be the add-on Phantom Liberty (PC and current generation consoles). A sequel, codenamed Orion, is also in development.
