Take-Two Interactive to buy Zynga for $ 12.7 billion

Take-Two Interactive has announced its intention to take over major mobile game developer Zynga for $ 12.7 billion and bring the Grand Theft Auto, Borderlands, BioShock, FarmVille and Words With Friends franchises under one wing.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick will become Chairman and CEO of Zynga, while Take-Two Interactive will lead the combined company.

Zynga will oversee Take-Two Interactive’s mobile projects, including its T2 Mobile Games, Dragon City, Monster Legends, Top Eleven, Two Dots and WWE SuperCard business. Mobile gaming revenue is expected to be over 50% in fiscal 2023, up from 12% in 2022.
