Sumo Group Acquires Auroch Digital for Intellectual Property and Game Publishing Assistance

Sumo Group acquired studio Auroch Digital for £ 6 million. The initial compensation of the above amount has already been transferred, but depending on the financial performance of Auroch Digital, the studio may receive additional payments by 2024.

Auroch Digital was founded in 2010. The studio is best known for the release of Mars Horizon. She also developed games such as The Colonists, Achtung! Cthulhu Tactics and Dark Future: Blood Red States. The brewing simulator Brewmaster is currently in the works.

The acquisition strengthens Sumo Group’s publishing capabilities – 48 Auroch Digital employees will be supporting the recently launched Secret Mode publishing division as an additional team.

After the merger, Auroch Digital will retain its name. Founder Tomas Rawlings will also remain as team leader.

“I am delighted to welcome Thomas and the Auroch Digital team to [Sumo Group]… Given our growing focus on our own intellectual property, we are particularly pleased with Auroch Digital’s original projects pipeline. Thus, although this is a relatively small acquisition, it is of great strategic importance to us. “– said the CEO of Sumo Group Carl Cavers (Carl Cavers).

Recall that in July, Tencent bought Sumo Group for $ 1.27 billion.
