Remember that since Frontier Developments was founded in January 1994 (that is, for more than 28 years) and until recently, the specified position was occupied by the studio’s founder, David Breben (David Braben).

It has been revealed that Breben has occupied the position for nearly three decades, and will be filled by Frontier Senior Creative Director Jonny Watts. Breben himself remains in the studio as president and founder.

“Frontier is very important to me and I’m delighted to be handing over the CEO responsibilities to the incredibly talented Jonny Watts, who I’m sure will do a great job.”— Breben commented on the appointment.

A press release cited Watts as a key figure in Frontier’s recent success, including record sales of £111million last financial year. Watts joined the studio in 1998 and was promoted to his former position in 2012.
