Steam Weekly Chart: Two new titles vie for the top spot, Mortal Kombat 11 sales skyrocket thanks to generous discounts

The Steam sales charts were reshuffled again: the portable PC Steam Deck, which held the top position for only a week, dropped to third place and the first two rows were filled with new items.

Topping the charts was The Outlast Trials, a co-op spin-off of the horror series Red Barrels, which released May 18. Despite the early access, the game received “very positive” reviews (rating based on 9.2 thousand reviews – 94%). Reached online the day before yesterday, May 21 36 689 User (own record).

Second place also went to the co-op novelty in Early Access – Starship Troopers: Extermination. Offworld Industries’ Starship Troopers shooter was also satisfied with more than 90% of users who left a review (specifically – 93%Total ratings – almost 8.5 thousand), however, the maximum number of simultaneous players was not so high (16 372).

What else happened on the chart this week:

• Thanks to discounts, FIFA 23 (fourth place), survival sim Rust (sixth place), V Rising (seventh place), and a survival sim vampire MMO with elements of a survival sim returned to the top ten. Secrets of Gloomrot update and the Sinister Evolution Pack, as well as NBA 2K23 (ninth), which updated the online personal record (55 275 person) after the beginning of the seventh season;

• With the opening of pre-orders for the fighting game Mortal Kombat 1, the last of the released installments in the series, Mortal Kombat 11, has arrived 90 percent discount (valid until the evening of May 26) and returned to the charts after a long absence, immediately peaking at number 11;
• Euro Truck Simulator 2 reappeared in the top 20 (12th row). To update with a MAN TG3 TGX truck, as well as Titanfall 2 (14th), Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 (16th, new personal online record – 14 858 users), Battlefield 2042 (17th) and Metro Exodus (18th), supported by large discounts;
• Apart from The Outlast Trials and Starship Troopers: Extermination, there were no successful new products in the table: the best result was given by the Return of Rome add-ons to the Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition strategy (42nd place) and the aforementioned Sinister Evolution Pack to V Rising (43 -I);
• Arcade racing game LEGO 2K Drive debuted at number 67 on the leaderboard 51% (total ratings – 155), and it’s online just over a thousand users.
