Preparations for the release of the PlayStation VR2 virtual reality headset are in full swing. Sony is preparing potential buyers for this event by demonstrating the capabilities of the new product and talking about the features of the PS VR2 model.
PS VR2 also allows the user to control the real world by switching to an overview of the room using the cameras built into the headset. This is very convenient, for example, when the user intends to find game controllers without removing the worn helmet – just press a button on the headset or use a special panel in the control center to switch from 3D to real reality. Dedicated sections also give you quick access to PS VR2 settings such as: B. Adjusting the play area. At the same time, no video recording of the surroundings is provided, the function is available only in view mode.
Another important feature is the ability to take pictures of yourself in the gaming environment using the PS5 HD camera connected to the gaming console. On such an occasion, you can share interesting or funny moments with your comrades, for example, a combined video of a real hero’s fight with a virtual boss.
The game zone can be set up using both the headset camera and the game controllers. Cameras allow you to scan the room, and PS VR2 Sense controllers allow you to fine-tune the boundaries of the play area, taking into account the environment and individual playstyle.
In particular, when approaching a predetermined limit, the user receives a warning. You can always change the settings according to your environment when connecting PS VR2. After saving, the settings are preserved – if the user does not switch to another game zone.
Switching between VR and “cinematic” modes is provided for those who find that not enough. VR mode allows users to enjoy 360-degree virtual content in a virtual environment. Content is displayed with a resolution of 4000 × 2040 pixels (2000 × 2040 per eye) at 90 or 120 Hz.
In Theater Mode, players can explore system data, settings, and non-VR content. In this case, the picture will be displayed with a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels, HDR and a frame rate of 24 cd / s and a frequency of 60 or 120 Hz.
PS VR2 software developers get the most advanced experience with the latest software update. More information, including a release date, will be announced by Sony in the near future.
