Sony announced this in a press release “Pulse Elite and Pulse Explore are the first PlayStation audio devices to use specially designed planar magnetic drivers to deliver the audiophile listening experience that professional audio engineers typically find in premium headphones.”.

Pulse Elite and Pulse Explore connect directly to PlayStation Portal via new PlayStation Link wireless audio technology. According to Sony, “This innovation ensures low latency, lossless audio and easy switching between multiple PlayStation Link hosts such as PS5 with USB adapter and PlayStation Portal.”.

When using Pulse Elite and Pulse Explore with PS5, PlayStation Link requires the included USB adapter. The PlayStation Link USB adapter will also be sold separately and can be used to connect the Pulse Elite or Pulse Explore to PCs and Macs.

Pulse Elite and Pulse Explore can be connected to a PlayStation Link enabled device (PS5, PC, Mac or PlayStation Portal) and a Bluetooth enabled device at the same time. For example, Pulse Explore can be connected to the PS5 via PlayStation Link (via a USB adapter) and at the same time to a mobile phone via Bluetooth. When playing on PS5, the player can answer the call and hear it through Pulse Explore.

The Pulse Elite headset costs $149.99, while the Pulse Explore headphones cost $199.99. More details on the pre-order start date and release dates will be available at a later date.
