The biggest innovation will probably be “Roguelike – Survival Mode” called No Return, “designed to allow players to test their mettle in random encounters and experience combat in a new way in The Last of Us Part II.”said Naughty Dog. It will be possible to play and play through with new characters “Various stealth and combat encounters in which you will face a variety of enemies and unique twists that can add new, unexpected factors to any battle.”.

On the technical side, the game offers native 4K resolution in Quality mode, 1440p resolution upscaled to 4K in Performance mode, and the ability to unlock frame rates if you have a VRR-capable TV. The developer has reduced loading times and expanded support for DualSense features, including haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.

In addition to the new roguelike mode, there is also a free mode for playing guitar with unlocked instruments, the ability to play through some incomplete levels from the original edition, developer commentary on these levels, and cutscenes from the main campaign as a quick-pass mode. Owners of The Last of Us Part II on PS4 can purchase the remaster for an additional $10 and have the option to transfer saves. The Last of Us Part II was released for PS4 in 2020 and received a patch with optimization for PS5 a year later. Last year, a remake of The Last of Us Part I was released for PS5.
