Solar Ash developer urged speedrunners to “break the hell” of the game

Heart Machine chief executive Alex Preston, in a recent interview with British Play magazine, urged the speedrunner community not to spare the studio’s upcoming game, the action-adventure platformer Solar Ash.

Recall that in Solar Ash, users will get the role of Rey running along the abyss, who is rapidly moving through the in-game world, sliding along the clouds and rails, as well as flying over the abyss with the help of a grappling hook.

According to Preston, he is mesmerized by the effort he is investing in fast paced runs and by bringing the community together in speedrunner marathons like Games Done Quick.

“I want to see people break our game to hell, it’s going to be a lot of fun. Due to the physical characteristics of the heroine … who knows what they will be able to do and how they will manage to break the prescribed routes in one way or another ”, – quotes the words of Preston portal GamesRadar

Preston himself is not fond of speedruns too deeply, but became interested in the topic against the background of high-speed passages of Hyper Light Drifter – the previous (debut) game of Heart Machine.

As noted by Preston, in the past, developers forbade skipping long cutscenes, but now they go to meet speedrunners and even add special modes for them to their projects.

Solar Ash will go on sale on October 26 this year for PC (Epic Games Store), PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. In the story, Rey has to go into a black hole to try to save his world from being absorbed.
