Social network Threads now has a post editing feature and it’s free

CEO of Meta Platforms Mark Zuckerberg announced the integration of the message editing function into the Threads social network, which is an analogue of Twitter. Thanks to this, users can edit their posts if necessary within five minutes of publication. This can be useful if there is an error in a particular message but it has already been published.

Unlike the social network The feature will soon be available to all users in the Threads mobile application as well as in the web version of the platform.

Note that unlike X, Threads does not display the change history of a post. This means Threads users can post something, get likes and shares, and then change the text as they see fit in just a few minutes. This could cause problems as the Edit button would be used by unscrupulous users to, for example, spread misinformation. Does Meta have a plan? It is not yet known whether a function to display the history of publication changes will be added in the future.

In addition, Zuckerberg announced the launch of the Voice Threads feature. Based on the name, it is not difficult to guess that with its help you can add voice messages to the social network. This update is welcome for people who are used to communicating via voice messages. After recording a voice message, the social network automatically generates a title for it, but the user can make adjustments if necessary.
