Smartphones with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 almost completely captured the January AnTuTu performance evaluation

The developers of the AnTuTu benchmark have published the performance rating of Android smartphones for January 2022. The most notable change compared to last December’s results was that the top seven places were occupied by devices based on the fresh flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, while the top 3 smartphones had a score of more than 1 million received points.

The first two lines of the rating are occupied by iQOO 9 Pro and iQOO 9, which scored 1,020,974 and 1,020,156 points, respectively. It is worth noting that the distance between the devices is insignificant and may be due to a slightly lower load on the GPU of the older model due to the use of a dedicated chip to display the image. Third place goes to Realme GT2 Pro with 1,000,641 points.

Fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh place are occupied by OnePlus 10 Pro, Xiaomi 12 Pro, Motorola Edge X30, and the base Xiaomi 12, respectively. All four devices score less than 1 million but more than 900,000 points in AnTuTu.

The eighth and ninth rows of the ranking were occupied by the Xiaomi Black Shark 4S Pro and Nubia Red Magic 6S Pro gaming smartphones, which scored 879,152 and 853,299 points, respectively. These devices are based on the Snapdragon 888+. According to numerous leaks, both will soon receive successors based on Qualcomm’s current flagship platform. The top ten is closed by iQOO 8 Pro with a Snapdragon 888+ chipset and a score of 852,371 points.

In the performance rankings of mid-range smartphones, nine out of ten places are occupied by devices based on Snapdragon chips. The only smartphone based on the MediaTek processor is in the ninth row. We’re talking about OPPO Reno6 5G with Dimensity 900, which scored 507,705 points. It is worth noting that smartphones based on Dimensity 1200 and 1100 were not included in the rating, since MediaTek positions them as flagship chipsets.

All other smartphones in the ranking are based on Snapdragon 778G, with the exception of the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite with Snapdragon 780G, which sits in the fourth row. The iQOO Z5 is considered the most powerful mid-budget smartphone and the Huawei Nova 9 closes the top ten.
