Vivo has launched the S17 series of smartphones in China, including the S17, S17t and S17 Pro. The series also includes the S17e smartphone, which was announced earlier this month.
All three novelties, like the S17e, received 6.78-inch AMOLED displays with rounded edges, with Full HD+ resolution (2800 × 1260 pixels), a refresh rate of 120 Hz and 10-bit color details. The battery capacity of the presented smartphones is also the same – 4600 mAh, there is support for 80 W fast charging. All differences are in the chips used in the devices and the configuration of the cameras.
The Vivo S17 is powered by a Snapdragon 778G+ octa-core processor up to 2.5GHz, the Vivo S17t is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8050 octa-core processor up to 3.0GHz and 5G modem, while The S17 Pro is powered by a 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 8200 octa-core processor with 3.1GHz frequency and 5G modem. All smartphones have 8/12 GB of RAM and flash drives with a capacity of 256/512 GB on board.
As for photographic capabilities, all smartphones received a 50-megapixel front camera with f/2.0 aperture and autofocus.
The Vivo S17 Pro features a 50-megapixel IMX766V (f/1.88) primary sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS) on the rear, complemented by a 12-megapixel sensor with 2x optical zoom and f/1.98 aperture and an 8 megapixel sensor with wide-angle optics. The S17 and S17t feature a 50-megapixel OIS main camera with f/2.0 aperture, complemented by an 8-megapixel f/2.2 wide-angle sensor.
An in-display fingerprint scanner is used to unlock devices. Smartphones run Android 13 with the proprietary OriginOS 3 interface.
Vivo S17 and S17 Pro will go on sale in China on June 8th. The Vivo S17 8/256GB costs 2,499 yuan ($352), while the 12/512GB model costs 2,999 yuan ($422). The Vivo S17 Pro with 8/256GB storage costs 3,099 yuan ($436), while the version with 12/512GB storage costs 3,499 yuan ($492). The sales start date and price of the S17t will be announced later.
