Smartphones based on the Dimensity 9000 chip entered the top

Smartphones based on the Dimensity 9000 chip entered the top ten most powerful according to AnTuTu for the first time, displacing Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 models

The modern consumer is in no hurry to change smartphones – not only because of inflation, but also because lately manufacturers have rarely been able to offer anything truly new. In such conditions, MediaTek managed to achieve the almost impossible – the Dimensity 9000 chipset replaced the recognized flagship – Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Products based on the MediaTek solution got into the top ten smartphones.

Earlier this month, AnTuTu Benchmark published the smartphone performance rating for March 2022. The latest flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset still dominates the market, models based on it occupy 8 of the top 10 positions, but managed for the first time it models on the Dimensity 9000 in the ranking.

One of them was Redmi K50 Pro, which took fourth place straight away, and OPPO Find X5 Pro Dimensity Edition took sixth place. MediaTek has focused on entry-level and mid-range smartphones for the past two years, later announcing itself in the flagship market and expanding its presence in all price segments. The company has now been the world’s largest supplier of mobile chipsets for several months in a row.

The Dimensity 9000 is based on a processor with one Cortex-X2 core running at 3050 MHz, three Cortex-A710 cores running at 2850 MHz and four Cortex-A510 cores running at 1800 MHz. The novelty uses the Mali-G710 graphics accelerator, which can compete on equal terms with the latest GPUs of the Adreno family used by Qualcomm. The mobile platform uses technology to optimize power consumption under different loads, which both reduces battery consumption and prevents overheating.

It is expected that the not yet released Vivo X80 will also be equipped with Dimensity 9000 and possibly fall into the top ten most productive smartphones.
