Vivo is preparing to launch its first flexible display smartphone called the X Fold. The presentation of the flagship device will take place on April 11, however, many of the device’s characteristics were revealed a few days earlier based on the image of the promotional stand published on the Internet.
The Vivo X Fold features an internal 8-inch 2K display with variable refresh rates up to 120Hz. The external 6.53-inch display supports Full HD+ resolution and refresh rates up to 120Hz.
The “heart” of the smartphone was the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, which complements the LPDDR5 RAM and the UFS 3.1 flash drive. The volume is not specified. The power source is a 4600 mAh rechargeable battery with support for wired charging up to 66 W and wireless charging up to 50 W. The Android 12 operating system is used as the software platform, and the built-in Wi-Fi 6 module takes care of it a wireless connection, an NFC module is provided for contactless payment.
The device’s camera consists of four sensors, the main of which was a 50-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL GN5 sensor. It is paired with a 48MP ultra wide-angle sensor with a 114° field of view, a 12MP portrait lens with 2x zoom and a 5MP telephoto lens with 60x digital zoom.
More detailed information about the device and the retail price of the smartphone were not announced. Of course, this will happen during the official presentation that will take place in a few days.
