Shipments and sales of Elden Ring in less than three weeks after release exceeded 12 million copies

Publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment and developer of Japanese studio FromSoftware shared information on the early successes of his fantasy open-world action role-playing game Elden Ring.

Recall that Bandai Namco Entertainment mentioned in its November financial report that it hopes to sell 4 million copies of Elden Ring before the end of the current fiscal year (March 31) – a little over a month after the game’s release .

As it became known, the total shipments and digital sales of Elden Ring exceeded 12 million copies on March 14th (ie after only 17 days). More than 1 million copies of it were sold in Japan.

For comparison, the most recent record holder in the series – Dark Souls 3 – hit 3 million copies in its first month and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice almost 4 million it lasted a little less than three months.

Bandai Namco CEO Yasuo Miyakawa added: “A lot of effort has gone into making Elden Ring exceed the expectations of fans around the world. We will expand the brand beyond the game itself and into everyone’s daily life.”.

Elden Ring debuted on February 25th on PC (Steam), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S. Recall that the game is in collaboration with the author of the book cycle A Song of Ice and Fire, George Martin ( George RR Martin).
