Second Wind: Cyberpunk 2077 once again broke The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt record for the number of players online

The recent resurgence of interest in Cyberpunk 2077 has seen the game once again break The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s record for most concurrent games to play on Steam for the entire existence of an Action RPG.

As of September 25, 2022, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has a record 103,329 concurrent Steam users. He was Furnished 3 years ago. Cyberpunk 2077, two years ago, it was again and again surpassed – at that time 1,054,388 people played at the same time. But now, with the release of the anime Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and the release of game update number 1.6, the RPG shooter has broken the record again. A simultaneous online count of 136,724 people was reached in the last 24 hours.

The peak in player count in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has also been linked to the Netflix adaptation, but Edgerunners seems to have influenced interest in Cyberpunk 2077 much more. Note that these numbers do not include online console performance. The Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 received a massive update and native versions of Cyberpunk 2077 earlier this year.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. In 2023, the game’s first and only story expansion, Phantom Liberty, will be released. It will only be available for PC, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5.
