Scythe has announced the Big Shuriken 3 Rev.B processor cooler, which is suitable for use in compact computers with limited space in the case.
The solution has a flow-from-above design. The design includes a radiator and five nickel-plated copper heat pipes with a diameter of 6 mm, which are not intended to be in direct contact with the processor cover.
The Kaze Flex II 120 SLIM fan with a diameter of 120 mm is responsible for the air flow. Its rotation speed is controlled by the pulse width modulation (PWM) process in the range from 300 (± 200) to 1800 (± 10%) rpm. The result is an air flow with a volume of up to 82 cubic meters per hour. The maximum static pressure is 1.36 mm H2O. The noise level does not exceed 27.8 dBA.
The cooler is only 67 mm high and is therefore suitable for small form factor computers. It is about compatibility with AMD processors in version AM2 (+) / AM3 (+) / AM4 / FM1 / FM2 (+), as well as with Intel chips in version LGA 1150/1151/1155/1156/1200/1700 / 2011/2011 (V3) / 2066. This makes the solution suitable for desktops on processors of the latest Intel Alder Lake generation.
The Scythe Big Shuriken 3 Rev.B cooler will go on sale on January 26th. No information is yet available about the estimated price.
