Samsung spent a record $40 billion on production development in 2022 — 90% went to semiconductors

Samsung spent a record 40 billion on production development in
South Korean giant Samsung Electronics, which remains the leading maker of memory chips, was the only player in the semiconductor sector reluctant to cut capital spending due to the oversupply crisis. Of a record $40 billion spent last year expanding and modernizing Samsung’s semiconductor facilities, $36 billion was spent.
