Samsung Pay no longer works on third-party smartphones

Unlike the payment service Apple Pay, which can only be used by owners of Apple Watch smartwatches or iPhone smartphones, the mobile payment platforms Google Pay and Samsung Pay can be used not only on mobile devices from Google or Samsung, but also from other brands. At least that was the case until recently.

However, there have been complaints on the Reddit and Samsung forums from users who received an error message stating that their ID is invalid when attempting to log into their Samsung Pay account on a third-party smartphone. However, most of these users use Samsung smartwatches like the Galaxy Watch 4.

According to many users, after switching to a new smartphone, they encountered problems when trying to set up Samsung Pay on it.

At the moment there are no official comments from the company on this matter. Some users claim that after calling the service, a company representative registered their application, others say that a Samsung representative they were able to call said that Samsung Pay no longer supports third-party smartphones.

It is very likely that the service has encountered a bug that should be fixed soon, because if Samsung had decided to block Samsung Pay for third-party smartphones, it would have been announced in advance.
