Samsung is bringing mechanical bezels back to the Galaxy Watch 6, a leak confirms

The official announcement of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 smartwatch is expected in a few weeks, but now it’s very likely that the bezel will return to the device – a mechanical rotating bezel around the screen. The Korean manufacturer carelessly removed this element from the Galaxy Watch 5, and the bezel will return on the sixth-generation smartwatch, assure the source that published the device’s renders. MySmartPrice and serious insider OnLeaks.

If the renders are real, the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic model is visually almost identical to the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. The image shows a smartwatch in a black matte case with a silicone strap and magnetic closure. If you believe earlier leaks, the round Super AMOLED screen measures 1.47 inches with a resolution of 470×470 pixels. There are two navigation buttons on the side, and the hardware platform is the Exynos W980 chip, the performance of which is 10% higher than the Exynos W920 in the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 5 smartwatches.

Smartwatches are expected to get sleep monitoring capabilities, heart rate and temperature sensors, GPS, NFC, and a barometer. There is also information that the battery capacity will be 425 mAh, which is slightly larger than the 44mm versions of the Galaxy Watch 5 (410 mAh) and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic (361 mAh). The return of the mechanical bezel will be welcomed by fans of the Galaxy Watch series – it was abandoned in favor of the touch panel on the fifth generation model.

There is no official announcement date for the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 yet. They can be showcased at the Galaxy Unpacked event, which is set to take place on July 26th, when Samsung can talk about the foldable Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5, as well as the Galaxy Tab S9 tablet.
