Samsung has launched the affordable Galaxy A05 and Galaxy A05s smartphones in Malaysia, replacing the Galaxy A04 and Galaxy A04s released last year. Information about the new products has already appeared on the official Samsung website, but the price and release dates are still unknown.
Both models feature 6.7-inch LCD displays with HD+ resolution for the Galaxy A05 and FHD+ resolution for the Galaxy A05s. The Galaxy A05s has a 13-megapixel front camera in a teardrop-shaped cutout at the top of the screen; the Galaxy A05 has an 8-megapixel front camera.
The main camera on both models has a 50-megapixel sensor (f/1.8), which complements a 2-megapixel sensor for measuring scene depth, and the older Galaxy A05s also has a 2-megapixel sensor for macro photography.
The main difference between the models is the processors used: the Galaxy A05s is based on the Snapdragon 680 chip, while the A05 has a MediaTek Helio G85. Both phones come with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of flash storage, which can be expanded via microSD card.
The battery capacity of the smartphones is also the same – 5000 mAh, in both cases 25 W fast charging is supported. The OneUI Core software shell based on the Android 13 operating system is used to manage devices.
The Samsung Galaxy A05 is available in black, light green and silver, while the Galaxy A05s is also offered in purple. The start of sales and the price of the devices will be announced shortly.
