Sales start of the Lenovo ThinkPhone smartphone with additional functions for ThinkPad owners

Motorola’s Lenovo ThinkPhone, the first co-branded smartphone from the Chinese company Lenovo since it bought Motorola nine years ago, went on sale today. A novelty that offers special features in connection with common business laptops Lenovo ThinkPad laptops.

Nine years after Lenovo acquired the Motorola brand, the first co-branded phone hit store shelves. It’s currently available to corporate customers, and starting April 28, everyone can buy it on Motorola.com.

The ThinkPhone features a large 6.6-inch 1080p OLED display with a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz. The quality of the materials and workmanship are highlighted: an aluminum frame, Gorilla Glass on the front and Lenovo’s signature textured aramid fiber -Back. The device has IP68 protection against dust and water and also meets the military standard MIL-STD-810H, which indicates improved durability and protection against extreme conditions.

The smartphone’s chip is the ability to sync with ThinkPad laptops over Wi-Fi, allowing the user to use the shared clipboard to move files between devices.

In addition to the ThinkPad-style look, the side of the smartphone features a red button in homage to the classic TrackPoint on Lenovo keyboards. You can assign special actions to the button, for example, a double-click can activate the phone’s synchronization with a ThinkPad laptop.

The Lenovo ThinkPhone is available in the US today for $699.
