Already in November last year Zaslav specified that the fighting game has been purchased almost three million times, but now the number has reached the key mark. CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery also noted that the conglomerate is paying attention to the Mortal Kombat brand and is worth at least $1 billion.

Mortal Kombat 1 was released in September for PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PS5, Xbox Series X and S, and Nintendo Switch. In the foreseeable future, the project will receive a story add-on in the spirit of Aftermath for Mortal Kombat 11.

The events of the game take place in the universe reincarnated by the fire god Liu Kang. The fighting game has been equipped with a new combat system with devastating finishing moves and an atmospheric story campaign.
