Sales of fantasy action Monster Hunter Rise exceeded 12 million copies

Japanese publisher and developer Capcom has announced that it has exceeded sales of its fantasy hunting action Monster Hunter Rise 12 million copies. It’s sold about 300,000 copies since the beginning of this year alone – a recent release on PlayStation and Xbox helped to quickly improve the number.

Monster Hunter Rise was released on January 20th, 2023 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S. However, the addition of Sunbreak for these consoles will be delayed until spring. The addon is currently only available for Nintendo Switch and PC owners. Also on February 7th, the expansion will receive another update with characters and items.

On PS5 and Xbox Series X, the Monster Hunter Rise hunting action received support for 4K and 60 fps in quality mode and up to 120 fps at 1080p in performance mode. The game also has support for 3D sound and adaptive triggers (exclusively relevant for PS5).

Monster Hunter Rise was released on Nintendo Switch on March 26, 2021 and on PC (Steam) on January 12, 2022. As of September 30, 2022, 11.2 million copies of the game have been sold, and another 4.4 million users bought the Sunbreak add-on. Total sales of the game by the end of the year grew up up to 11.7 million
