Rumours: Sony has reached an agreement with Konami on the exclusivity of the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake and Capcom is preparing a Dead Rising reboot

A remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater hasn’t been confirmed yet, but there are as many rumors about it as news about some of the announced games. A new behind-the-scenes update comes from Windows Central Editor Jez Corden and XboxEra Podcast host Nick Baker.

Sources from Video Games Chronicle announced that Konami plans to refresh the iconic stealth action in autumn 2021. Chinese studio Virtuos is said to be responsible for the case, with release expected in 2024. The remake was rumored to be shown at E3 2023 in June, but the show was cancelled.

In a new installment of the XboxEra Podcast, Baker quotes his whistleblower reportedthat a remake of MGS 3 could be one of the premieres (also not confirmed yet) May the PlayStation Showcase and have a kind of exclusive status. Around “Metal Gear PlayStation Exclusive” heard and Corden.

The terms of the deal are not known for certain, but Corden does mentioned Temporary console exclusivity – meaning for the foreseeable future after release, the MGS 3 Remake will only be available on PC and PlayStation: “Temporary exclusivity on PlayStation usually means ‘never on Xbox'”.

corden Expectationsthat Sony had a Silent Hill deal with Konami in addition to Metal Gear and, “Maybe even a new Castlevania”. Announced in October 2022, Polish studio Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2 remake has been confirmed for PC and PlayStation 5.

Also in Corden’s answers called rise dead. A slew of zombie action movies from Capcom hasn’t pleased fans lately: Dead Rising 4 didn’t live up to the publisher’s and players’ expectations, but for fans of the franchise, something positive is finally on the horizon.

If believe Corden, Capcom is currently planning a Dead Rising reboot. The journalist couldn’t share the details, but development will likely be carried out through the efforts of a new department on the series. Capcom Vancouver, the studio responsible for Dead Rising, was dissolved in 2018.
