Haitong International Securities analyst Jeff Pu expects Apple to launch two unusual products next year, among others: the first Apple Watch smartwatch with a Micro-LED display and an affordable version of the AirPods wireless headphones.
According to the analyst, the new Apple Watch smartwatch will come with a larger 2.1-inch diagonal Micro-LED display. Using this type of display offers higher brightness than current generation watches that use OLED displays. It can be assumed that the Micro-LED display will receive the next version of the flagship Apple Watch Ultra presented last fall with a 1.92-inch display.
Pu is also looking forward to cheaper wireless earbuds, which he calls AirPods Lite, although Apple is unlikely to use that name. In his opinion, according to the analyst, Apple will release cheaper headphones in order to increase competition with analogues from other manufacturers. At the same time, he did not comment on how many such headphones can build. Apple’s second-generation AirPods are the most affordable earbuds right now, selling for $129.
