Last week, Samsung introduced a new family of flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S22. The older model in the range, the Galaxy S22 Ultra, received an S Pen slot, like the smartphones in the discontinued Galaxy Note range. Now there are rumors that a separate stylus compartment will appear in the next smartphone in the Galaxy Z Fold series.
The Korean edition of TheElec, citing anonymous sources, reports that the Galaxy Z Fold4 will have a slot for the S Pen stylus. It’s worth noting that active pen support is also present in last year’s Galaxy Z Fold3, but there is no dedicated pen slot in the smartphone. Sources also say that the Galaxy Z Fold4 will feature a 7.56-inch foldable screen and an optional 6.19-inch external display.
It is also reported that Samsung will pay special attention to the durability of the new model. The Galaxy Z Fold3 already offers users IPX8 water resistance and a more durable foldable display than previous generations. So it will be interesting to see how the company plans to improve this year. Most likely, the novelty will receive a dust cover and an even more durable folding screen.
The Elec also reports that the Galaxy Z Flip4 clamshell will inherit a 6.7-inch foldable screen from the current model, but claims the outer display will be slightly larger. Its diagonal is expected to grow from 1.83 to 1.9 inches.
