The Battlefield 2042 open beta has ended. During it, players posted their feedback on social networks and forums and complained about the changes made, such as the removal of classes and the addition of operators. According to insider Tom Henderson, the point is that Battlefield 2042 was originally a battle royale.
On Twitter, Henderson wrote: “The theory that Battlefield 2042 was originally created with battle royale is correct. Although I’m not sure [на каком этапе] development, it was changed to a more traditional Battlefield. [Разработчики] inspired by Call of Duty, but Apex [Legends] was a GREAT source of inspiration “…
In other news, the theory that # Battlefield2042 started as a Battle Royale is true, although I’m not sure how far in development it was changed to a more “traditional” Battlefield.
The inspiration from CoD was there, but Apex was a BIG inspiration.

Even if this is true, it is not known at what point the direction of development changed. In addition, the operators were reportedly inspired by those of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
Electronic Arts and DICE recently released a teaser for the Hazard Zone mode, which is a combination of ideas from Hunt: Showdown and Escape from Tarkov. The developers promise to disclose its details tomorrow, October 14.
Battlefield 2042 launches November 19 on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X & S, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
