According to Jez Corden, senior editor for Windows Central, the game is currently in preproduction, but is approaching a working alpha with core gameplay mechanics.

“I think there is a good chance of seeing Avowed up and running by E3 2022, given the quality of the content I saw, which could have been months back then.”Corden said.

Corden also admitted that Avowed could show at the end of the year at The Game Awards.

Avowed events unfold in the world of Pillars of Eternity and, according to Corden’s informants, some spells, enemies, firearms and enchantments will migrate to the new game from the role-playing series.

As for the gameplay, then Avowed supposedly will have several character classes, a combat system with “Mountain of spells” and dual wielding (like in Skyrim), destructible environments, and a brighter visual style compared to Bethesda’s The Elder Scrolls.
