Influential insider DylanDKT informed on Monday that the new 14-inch MacBook Pro will be equipped with the Apple M2 chip and will be available in the second half of 2022. In the next tweet he added that the novelty will have the same design as the 14-inch models based on the M1 Pro and M1 Max.
According to the source, along with the new MacBook Pro model, Apple will also release a new MacBook Air, which will also come with an M2 chip. Keep in mind that the current Apple MacBook Air, like the 13-inch MacBook Pro, was released in November 2020. Along with the Mac mini, these were the first Mac models to be based on the Apple M1 platform.
In early January, it was reported that the new MacBook Air model would have a “slightly faster” M2 chip. Apple’s M2 chip is expected to have a 10-core GPU, although no further details have been released yet.
Back in October last year, insider DylanDKT also detailed the M2-based MacBook Air, stating that it would get a more “boxy” design like the MacBook Pro models. We add that DylanDKT has established itself as a provider of reliable information about future Apple products.
