Information has appeared on the Internet that Apple has resumed preparations for the release of the fourth generation iPhone SE smartphone, which will be equipped with a 6.1-inch OLED display and a 5G chip of the Cupertino company’s own design . This was announced by TF Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who announced for a few months that Apple is abandoning plans to release a new version of the iPhone SE.
Kuo tweeted that the new iPhone SE will be similar to the iPhone 14, which features a 6.1-inch OLED display with thinner bezels. In comparison, the current version of the iPhone SE (pictured above) has a 4.7-inch LCD display with thicker bezels. How informed MacRumors resource cites industry-renowned analyst Ross Young for manufacturing displays, displays for the new iPhone SE will be supplied by Chinese company BOE.
According to Ming-Chi Kuo, the next-gen iPhone SE will feature an Apple-developed 5G modem that can only connect to sub-6GHz 5G bands. The current version of the iPhone SE has 5G support but uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon X57 chip.
Kuo did not give a release date for the new iPhone SE. Apparently, the publication should be expected in March 2024 or later. The current iPhone SE smartphone went on sale in the US in March 2022, starting at $429.
