Recall that Ikai was presented as part of the E3 2021 digital exhibition in June and was originally scheduled to be released in October 2021. The premiere was then postponed January 2022, but the authors did not meet these deadlines.

As has been announced, Ikai will be available on March 29, 2022 for PC (Steam), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch. The digital version of the game is $30 and retail (console only) is $35.

The physical edition of Ikai, including a postcard and stickers, is already available for pre-order from overseas online retailers such as Amazon.

Ikai is set in feudal Japan. Players take on the role of the priestess Naoko, exploring the shrine and avoiding (the heroine can only draw wards) monsters inspired by local folklore.

Ikai developers promise “Unique Story”, “tense atmosphere” and some puzzles. You can play the game yourself within the (steam) demos.
